Summary

Our client is currently seeking a Solutions Architect - Remote for a 6+ month right-to-hire position with a Major Financial Services Firm.

This role leads the design and implementation of enterprise-level applications on the Appian low-code platform. The Solutions Architect will serve as the technical authority, translating complex business requirements into scalable solutions and providing leadership to development teams. This is a fully remote position, with preference for candidates in the EST, CST, or MST time zones.

Responsibilities:

Serve as the technical authority on the Appian platform, guiding the design, development, and implementation of high-quality solutions

Translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical designs and application architecture

Work hands-on with the Appian platform, including SAIL, Process Modeler, Data Fabric, and integrations with REST/SOAP web services

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Appian development teams

Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and clients to ensure alignment between business objectives and technical solutions

Define and champion the organization's Appian strategy, roadmap, and governance model

Oversee the full solution delivery lifecycle, including adherence to Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices

Conduct performance tuning, code reviews, and technical assessments to ensure the health and optimization of Appian applications

Provide support for existing Appian-based implementations by leading the assessment of defects and resolving within given SLAs

Implement enhancements as prioritized by business partners

Prepare roadmap for addressing any technical debt with existing Appian-based implementations

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a related technical field

Minimum of seven years of hands-on experience architecting and developing solutions on the Appian platform

Expert knowledge of Appian best practices, scalability, and performance optimization

Experience in designing and integrating enterprise applications using APIs and web services

Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and experience with relational databases and SQL

Technical proficiency in Appian SAIL, Process Modeling, SSO, Data Fabric, Web APIs, and SQL

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS

Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines

Ability to lead cross-functional teams, both distributed and remote

Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences

Desired skills:

Appian certification is highly desirable

Proficiency in another programming language, such as Java, JavaScript, or C#

Experience working in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government)
