Job Description

We are seeking an experienced MDM Functional Consultant – Supply Chain / OMS with strong expertise in Master Data Management (MDM), Data Governance, and Data Quality within Retail, Supply Chain, and Order Management environments.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing enterprise master data across Product, Vendor, Location, Pricing, and Assortment domains. This individual will play a key role in establishing data governance standards, maintaining golden records, improving data quality, and ensuring master data integrity across critical Order Management and Supply Chain applications.

Candidates should possess strong functional knowledge of retail product hierarchies, inventory management, replenishment, fulfillment, and order orchestration.

Experience with Simplain is a plus but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

1. Master Data Management & Governance

• Define and implement enterprise master data standards across Product, Vendor, Location, Pricing, and Assortment domains.

• Establish data ownership models, approval workflows, and data stewardship processes.

• Manage retail product hierarchies, including Category, Department, Class, Store Clusters, and Fulfillment Nodes.

• Ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity of master data across enterprise applications.

2. Golden Record & Data Modeling

• Design and maintain canonical data models and golden records.

• Define survivorship rules, match/merge logic, and duplicate resolution strategies.

• Manage reference data, including Unit of Measure (UOM), pack configurations, lead times, lifecycle codes, and replenishment parameters.

• Establish processes for master data creation, maintenance, validation, and lifecycle management.

3. Data Quality & Validation

• Develop and implement data quality rules covering completeness, validity, consistency, and timeliness.

• Perform data profiling, data cleansing, validation, and remediation activities.

• Build and maintain Data Quality (DQ) scorecards and monitoring dashboards.

• Identify data gaps, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate remediation initiatives.

• Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across OMS and Supply Chain applications.

4. OMS & Supply Chain Alignment

• Ensure master data integrity supports inventory availability and order management processes.

• Validate master data dependencies for Available to Promise (ATP), sourcing, reservations, replenishment, and fulfillment.

• Support order orchestration and inventory management workflows.

• Partner with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Inventory, and Operations teams to resolve data quality issues.

• Ensure accurate data flow and consistency across integrated enterprise applications.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong experience in Master Data Management (MDM).

• Retail Product Master Data and Item Master Management.

• Vendor Master and Location Master Data.

• Data Governance, Data Stewardship, and Data Ownership.

• Golden Record Management and Survivorship Rules.

• Match/Merge Logic and Duplicate Resolution.

• Data Quality Management and Data Profiling.

• Strong SQL skills for data validation, profiling, and reconciliation.

• Experience with ETL/ELT technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SSIS, or similar.

• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and enterprise data integrations.

• Experience with SIT, UAT, functional testing, and data validation.

Retail & Supply Chain Domain Expertise

Candidates should have a strong understanding of:

• Product, Vendor, Supplier, and Location Master Data.

• Retail Product Hierarchies – Category, Department, Class, and Assortment.

• SKU, Item Master, and Product Lifecycle Management.

• Unit of Measure (UOM) structures and Pack Configurations.

• Vendor Onboarding and Item Introduction.

• Lead Times and Replenishment Parameters.

• Inventory Availability and Inventory Management.

• Available to Promise (ATP).

• Order Sourcing and Reservations.

• Order Orchestration and Fulfillment Rules.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Simplain MDM or Simplain Vendor Portal.

• Exposure to StreamCollab or Symphony Retail AI GOLD.

• Experience with Retail MDM or Product Information Management (PIM) platforms.

• Background in Retail, Grocery, Wholesale, Merchandising, or Supply Chain environments.

• Experience supporting enterprise retail and OMS implementations.

Important Candidate Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate practical experience in Retail or Supply Chain Master Data Management, Product Master Data, Data Governance, and Data Quality.

Generic SAP MDG, SAP Functional, Informatica MDM Development, or Data Engineering experience alone will not be sufficient without relevant Retail, Supply Chain, or OMS domain experience.
