Must-Have Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field)
Engine Testing, Validation & Troubleshooting
Data Analysis and Root Cause Investigation
Software/Test Automation Development (Python, C#, or similar)
Understanding of embedded systems and electronic control modules (ECMs)
Knowledge of software verification and validation processes
Ability to analyze test results and identify root causes
Familiarity with CAN/J1939 communication and diagnostic tools
Experience with test equipment, data acquisition systems, or HIL/SIL environments
Understanding of requirements based testing and defect tracking
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to learn new systems and tools quickly
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail and commitment to quality
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Nice-to-Have Skills
Master’s degree
Engine controls or engine systems experience
Experience with dSPACE, Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, ET, or similar tools
Experience developing automated regression test suites
Experience presenting technical findings to stakeholders
Ability to influence decisions through data driven recommendations
Description
Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems – from requirements to production and commercial deployment
Write and code logical and physical database descriptions; specify database identifiers to management systems or direct others in coding descriptions
Analyze and enhance efficiency, stability, and scalability of system resources Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish the project
Position purpose: Dedicated resource for test automation on the Core Gas Engine Software Test team; automation packages will be heavily used for production file delivery (currently mostly manual testing)
Daily tasks: Engine software validation and test execution; test result analysis, defect investigation, root cause analysis; test automation development and maintenance (driver file updates, script development, debugging)
Team interaction: Daily collaboration with software developers, controls engineers, test engineers, and validation engineers
