About the RoleAs a Data Governance Manager, you will play a critical role in building and operationalizing an enterprise data governance framework. You'll partner closely with business leaders, analysts, Technology, Information Security, and other stakeholders to improve data quality, protect sensitive information, and ensure consistent governance practices across the organization.
This role is ideal for someone who blends strong technical understanding with business acumen and can drive adoption of governance standards at scale.
What You'll Do Data Governance & Framework Development - Build and roll out an enterprise-wide data governance framework covering data quality, sensitive data protection, governance metrics, policies, standards, processes, and tools.
- Define and maintain governance policies, standards, and accountability structures.
Data Stewardship & Ownership - Establish clear roles and responsibilities for data stewardship across the organization.
- Coach and develop data stewards to drive ownership and accountability at the source.
Cross-Functional Partnership - Serve as the liaison between Business/Functional teams and Technology to ensure data requirements-especially around sensitive data-are clearly defined and integrated into planning and prioritization.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure governance practices are understood, adopted, and operationalized.
Data Quality & Protection - Develop and implement data quality and data protection standards.
- Ensure policies are practical, actionable, and consistently adopted across teams.
Metrics, Scorecards & Compliance - Define KPIs, KRIs, and governance metrics to measure program effectiveness.
- Build recurring scorecards for leadership and ensure compliance with governance standards and adoption requirements.
What You'll Bring Minimum Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in data quality management, information architecture, or data governance design/implementation.
- Experience influencing governance program direction in complex organizations.
- Strong understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) technologies, processes, and design principles.
- Proven experience operationalizing governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Hands-on experience with data catalogs, data quality tools, and change management.
- Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional relationships and drive organizational change.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate governance concepts for both technical and business audiences.
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in MIS, IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Data Governance certifications such as CDMP, DGSP, or similar industry credentials.
