Qualification:

This profile outlines the desired skills and experience for a Security Support Engineer, enabling teams to effectively identify and recruit qualified candidates. Ideal candidates should possess a strong foundation incloud computing, cloud security principles, and cloud identity management, with a specific emphasis on Google Cloud Platform. They should be adept at troubleshooting cloud security-related issues, analyzing logs, and providing expert support for various security tools and technologies. The ideal candidate will have a focus ontroubleshooting, communication, and technical expertise, with a solid baseline in cyber security concepts and practical skills.

Responsibilities:

• Access Policies & IAM: A clear understanding of access policies, service accounts, and how the Google Cloud Platform management console works.
• Identity and Access Management (IAM): Strong understanding of IAM roles and policies within Google Cloud Platform.
• Cloud Computing: Solid understanding of cloud providers, specifically Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), including core services.
• Security Protocols: Knowledge of security best practices for securing cloud resources and
• experience with Networking concepts, protocols, and services, e.g. SSL, TLS, HTTPS, TCP, UDP,VPN, Firewall.
• Networking Troubleshooting: Good networking troubleshooting background (especially for
• VPC-SC and IAP troubleshooting). Experience in solving VPN, VPC, and public/private networking issues.
• Log Analysis: Proven ability to analyze logs for security-related issues and identifying patterns.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitorin Datadog, Prometheus stack, and Grafana for troubleshooting and performance analysis.
• Operating Systems: Proficiency with Linux and Windows.
• Scripting: Familiarity with basic scripting for configuration and troubleshooting.
• Security Tools: Familiarity with security tools within Google Cloud Platform (e.g., Cloud KMS, Security Command Center). Version Control: Hands-on experience with Git.
• IT Experience: 3+ years of experience in IT, including infrastructure, security, and networking. Cloud Deployment (Plus): Experience building Google Cloud Platform-based deployments which will necessarily require IAM knowledge.
• Troubleshooting Experience: 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving complex issues.
• Support Experience: Familiarity with support methodologies, case lifecycles, and analytical skills for breaking down issues.
