Summary

The Mechanical Systems Engineer is responsible for developing technical specifications, defining engineering requirements, and providing technical support throughout the manufacturing and field execution process. This role supports the design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of auxiliary mechanical systems while ensuring compliance with engineering standards and customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop technical specifications, review designs, and verify supplier proposals for Air Intake Systems, Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers (ACHE), Noise Enclosures, and Fire Protection Systems.
  • Perform technical evaluations, supplier negotiations, risk assessments, and provide commercial selection support.
  • Review internal and supplier engineering documentation, drawings, and design solutions for compliance with project requirements.
  • Support Procurement teams with technical clarifications and supplier-related issues.
  • Coordinate with Lead Engineers, Customers, Suppliers, Project Management, and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Ensure supplier solutions meet requirements specifications, customer expectations, and system interfaces.
  • Provide shop inspection support, field/site assistance during installation, commissioning, and warranty activities.
  • Support proposal development and technical inputs for bid management activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 6+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or related technical roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Gas Turbine Auxiliary Mechanical Systems, including Air Intake, Acoustic Enclosures, Ventilation Systems, and Fire Protection Systems.
  • Experience with technical documentation, supplier management, and engineering design reviews.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional and international engineering initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global engineering environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
  • 100% Onsite Role.
