SOM (Switching order Management) Consultant

Introduction:

As a SOM (Switching Order Management) Consultant, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing electrical distribution systems using SCADA/ADMS/SOM/EMS platforms. You will support outage management, real-time system optimization, and ensure operational reliability. Additionally, you will work to enhance safety by validating procedures in a virtual manner and assist in planning, simulation, and execution of field switching operations.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage electrical distribution systems using SCADA/ADMS/SOM/EMS platforms.
• Support outage management and real-time system optimization.
• Enhance safety by validating procedures in a virtual manner.
• Assist in planning, simulation, and execution of field switching operations.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical system issues and coordinate resolutions with field crews and vendors.
• Assist in system upgrades, configuration changes, and software implementation.
• Provide vendor-level support and client-facing troubleshooting.

Requirements:

Required Skills: Switch Order Management, EMS, ADMS, OMS, SCADA

Preferred Skills: Experience working with electrical distribution systems, knowledge of utility industry standards and regulations, strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills.
