Data Scientist

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Scientist in Houston, TX.

Summary:
We are seeking an applied Data Scientist to help turn data into actionable insights and predictive solutions. This role focuses on hands-on model development within a modern data platform, partnering closely with engineering teams to solve real-world optimization and decision-making problems.

Responsibilities:
* Develop, train, and iterate on machine learning models in Databricks
* Apply neural networks, tree-based models, and classical optimization techniques
* Collaborate closely with data and engineering teams on applied ML initiatives
* Integrate and work with vendor-provided models and internal ML pipelines
* Support new ML use cases and early AI/agent-based solutions as needed
* Contribute to ML Ops practices (conceptual support, not infrastructure ownership)

REQUIREMENTS:
* Hands-on experience working in Databricks
* Experience building and deploying ML models (not just analysis)
* Strong understanding of ML fundamentals and optimization methods
* Engineering-oriented mindset with applied problem-solving experience
* Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineers

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
