Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our acute care team. This full-time position provides comprehensive nursing care to adult medical and surgical patients in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor patient conditions and promptly report changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments safely and accurately.
• Perform patient assessments, documentation, and care coordination using the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with hospital policies.
• Respond effectively to medical emergencies and changes in patient condition.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
• Float to other nursing units within scope of practice as needed.

Schedule

• Employment Type: Full-Time
• Shift: 12-hour Days or Nights
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Overtime: Available
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling with flexibility to adjust based on unit needs.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred if applicable).
• Previous Medical/Surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Weekend & Holiday Requirements

• Every other weekend required (or work every Saturday or every Sunday while meeting monthly weekend requirements).
• Every other holiday required on a rotating schedule.
• Minimal on-call responsibilities.
