Description: Our client is currently seeking a
Technician I - Electronic Product Fabrication and AssemblyOverview The Technician I role supports the fabrication, assembly, and rework of electronic hardware in both production and development environments. This position requires hands-on assembly skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical documentation.
This is an
on-site position requiring work at the primary location
five days per week. Occasional travel or movement between facilities may be required.
Key Responsibilities - Fabricate and rework non-flight electronic hardware using build documents and assembly drawings (e.g., cables, chassis, rack assemblies, test aids).
- Perform cabling tasks including wire stripping, crimping, connector installation, soldering, sleeving, and grounding.
- Accurately interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and wire lists.
- Troubleshoot hardware issues related to design or workmanship.
- Conduct continuity and certification testing across various hardware types.
- Collect, measure, and record test data and report conditions that fall outside acceptable tolerances.
- Execute assignments efficiently with consideration for cost, schedule, manufacturability, and hardware reuse.
- Maintain consistent and predictable attendance.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to support a positive and productive work environment.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Work Environment - Work may be performed in office, lab, production floor, cleanroom, outdoor, or remote research settings.
- Some tasks may require the use of personal protective equipment.
- Movement between facilities may involve exposure to varying weather conditions.
Required Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Higher-level related degrees (Bachelor's, Master's) may substitute for up to two years of experience.
- Strong communication skills suited for technical environments.
- Solid mechanical aptitude with comfort using a wide variety of hand tools.
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to obtain required certifications (e.g., Cleanroom, ESD Protection, J-STD-001 Soldering, IPC-A-620 Cable & Wire Harness).
- Ability to follow schematics, assembly drawings, and test procedures.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., data entry, data queries).
- Willingness to learn internal process tools and software.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in team settings.
- Availability for rapid technical support and overtime when required.
