The Access Control team sits at the center of Bloomberg's security infrastructure. Our platforms power entitlement enforcement, access governance, and secure data access across Bloomberg's internal applications and infrastructure. The systems we build are deeply integrated into critical Bloomberg workflows and are designed to operate at enterprise scale with high availability, resilience, and transparency.Our Team:The Access Control team safeguards Bloomberg's data and functionality through modern, highly available access control infrastructure. We play a critical role in Bloomberg's data security and risk management initiatives - protecting information across every layer of the company's technical stack.

Our team builds and maintains enterprise-grade applications and services that power privilege management workflows and policy enforcement across Bloomberg. The entitlement checking infrastructure we own is among the most heavily used at the company, underpinning Bloomberg Terminal functions and internal enterprise platforms.

We develop scalable systems and tooling that provide:
  • Enterprise-wide entitlement enforcement and access governance
  • Infrastructure for policy enforcement and auditability
  • Automated workflows for secure access management
  • Internal applications and tooling integrated into the Bloomberg Terminal
  • Highly available entitlement infrastructure supporting critical Bloomberg workflows

Our work requires deep technical expertise and close collaboration across engineering, infrastructure, and risk stakeholders to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable access systems. In a rapidly evolving security landscape, we build future-proof solutions that help protect Bloomberg's data and services at global scale.

We'll trust you to:
In this role, you will work closely with our business partners to identify critical problems and architect the solutions that can effectively protect sensitive data while reducing the need for human intervention. The software solutions that you create will directly affect the daily work of our internal users.

You'll need to have:

5+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and releasing high-quality software in C++, Java, C#, and/or Python

A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, similar field of study or equivalent work experience

We'd love to see:

Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript

Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills

Professional experience working in a Linux environment

Collaborate effectively with multiple teams and product stakeholders to deliver products

Microservices / Distributed architecture / complex workflows experience.

Prior work with middleware technology (e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ)

Experience with caching technology (e.g. Redis, memCached)

Database schema design, performance optimization skills and query tuning

Familiar with unit testing, CI/CD and Dev-Ops

Salary Range = 160,000 - 240,000 USD Annual + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
