Summary

My client is a global leader in the digital transformation of aeronautical data and aviation systems, is seeking an L2+ (Advanced) Software Support & Maintenance Engineer to support mission-critical aviation software built on .NET / C#, Python, Angular, and deployed on Microsoft Azure or other cloud ecosystems. This full-time role blends advanced L2 operational support with L3 engineering responsibilities, covering application support, cloud platform operations, database troubleshooting, minor code changes, performance optimization, and release management.

This is an exciting opportunity for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical problems in a high-availability, mission-critical aviation environment. You will work on modern cloud-native applications, support multi-environment setups (DEV/TEST/UAT/PROD), monitor system health, optimize performance, and ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, and ICAO regulations. The role offers growth into L3 Support, Cloud/DevOps, or Senior Software Engineering tracks, exposure to CI/CD pipelines, telemetry systems, database optimization, and security practices-all while collaborating with cross-functional teams and gaining experience with cutting-edge aviation systems.

Required Skills & Experience:
3-6 years in software support, operations, or maintenance engineering
Strong hands-on experience with .NET / C#, Python, Angular
Relational databases and SQL (Azure SQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL/MySQL)
Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms
REST APIs, Git/version control, ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management)
Troubleshooting application logic, cloud infrastructure, and database layers
Experience with performance monitoring, incident resolution, and CI/CD support

Desired Skills & Experience:
Experience supporting high-availability, mission-critical systems
Knowledge of aviation systems or aeronautical data standards (AIM, AIXM, NOTAM, SWIM)
Containers (Docker, Kubernetes / AKS) and Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform)
Message-based architectures and event-driven systems
Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-204) and ITIL Foundation

What You Will Be Doing:

Tech Breakdown:
35% Azure cloud & platform operations (App Services, Functions, Storage, Key Vault, Service Bus, API Management)
30% Application support & minor code fixes (.NET, Python, Angular)
20% Database operations & data integrity (SQL Server, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL/MySQL)
15% Monitoring, performance, security, and compliance

Daily Responsibilities:
50% Hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance of applications, databases, and cloud services
20% Mentoring L1/L2 engineers, documentation, runbook updates
30% Team collaboration with DevOps, QA, Product, and L3 engineers

The Offer:
Bonus or Commission Eligible

You will receive the following benefits:
Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
Paid Vacation Time
Stock Options

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future.
