Network Administrator - Onsite | Growing Manufacturing EnvironmentOverviewA rapidly expanding manufacturing company is looking for a hands-on Network Administrator to support, maintain, and enhance the organization's network infrastructure across both plant-floor and office operations.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a mix of day-to-day technical support and long-term infrastructure improvement-someone who wants real ownership of wired and wireless networks, servers, and core IT systems in a dynamic production environment.
You'll be joining a growing IT team and will play a key role in ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performance technology across the entire facility.
What You'll Do:Network Administration & Support- Monitor, maintain, and optimize network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, access points, and physical cabling.
- Ensure uptime and performance of LAN/WAN networks, Wi-Fi systems, and VPN connectivity across both office and manufacturing environments.
- Configure and manage VLANs, routing, segmentation, and other core networking functions to support business and production applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network performance, connectivity, and security.
Manufacturing Technology Support- Support plant-floor technologies such as HMIs, industrial PCs, scanners, label printers, and connected production equipment.
- Maintain stable communication between production machinery, systems, and the network.
- Partner with engineering and operations teams to support OT (Operational Technology) needs.
Projects & Continuous Improvement- Lead or contribute to IT infrastructure projects such as network redesigns, Wi-Fi enhancements, server upgrades, equipment refreshes, and security initiatives.
- Document network architecture, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Identify and implement improvements that enhance reliability, performance, and scalability.
Required Skills & Experience- Strong experience with network infrastructure, routers and switches, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with platforms such as Fortinet or SonicWall.
- Ability to support both office networks and plant-floor/industrial technology environments.
- Experience troubleshooting connectivity, performance, and security issues.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience collaborating with or supporting MSPs and MSSPs.
- Solid understanding of OT/IT convergence.
Experience LevelIntermediate - ideal for someone ready to take the next step in ownership and responsibility.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bedford, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
