Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst with 12+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, data modeling, reporting, and data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL, Python, data visualization, data validation, and translating complex business requirements into actionable insights.

Experience working with State Government clients or public-sector organizations is highly preferred. The candidate should be comfortable collaborating with business stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership to support enterprise data initiatives and government modernization programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements from stakeholders.

• Perform complex data analysis using SQL, Python, and other analytical tools.

• Extract, transform, cleanse, and validate large datasets from multiple sources.

• Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI or Tableau.

• Identify data trends, patterns, anomalies, and business performance metrics.

• Perform data profiling, data quality assessments, and root-cause analysis.

• Create data mapping documents, business rules, functional specifications, and data dictionaries.

• Collaborate with data engineers, database administrators, business analysts, and project managers.

• Support data migration, data integration, and system modernization initiatives.

• Develop KPIs, metrics, and analytical reports to support strategic business decisions.

• Present analytical findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, security, and compliance with organizational standards.

• Support UAT, data validation, and production reporting activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, Senior Data Analyst, or Business/Data Analyst.

• Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, joins, subqueries, CTEs, and window functions.

• Hands-on experience with Python for data analysis and automation.

• Strong experience with Power BI or Tableau for dashboard development and reporting.

• Experience with Excel, data modeling, data profiling, and data validation.

• Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data integration concepts.

• Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to translate business requirements into technical data specifications.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum and cross-functional project environments.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Previous experience working with State Government clients, State agencies, or public-sector organizations.

• Experience with government data modernization and digital transformation projects.

• Knowledge of public-sector programs, regulatory reporting, and government compliance requirements.

• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, or Azure data platforms.

• Familiarity with data warehousing and dimensional modeling.

• Experience with data governance, metadata management, and master data management.

• Experience supporting healthcare, Medicaid, Medicare, finance, education, or public benefits programs.

• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, and Agile project delivery.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 12+ years of hands-on Data Analytics experience.

• Strong SQL, Python, and BI reporting skills.

• Experience handling large and complex datasets.

• Excellent stakeholder communication and presentation skills.

• Prior State Government or public-sector project experience is a strong advantage.
