Data Warehouse & BI Specialist/Developer (Microsoft Stack).
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence Specialist/Developer to lead the implementation, configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of enterprise data solutions. This individual will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining data warehouse environments while also delivering meaningful reporting, dashboards, and actionable business insights.
This role requires a hands-on professional who can operate independently, wear multiple hats, and quickly get up to speed with minimal training. The ideal candidate will have strong Microsoft stack expertise and experience supporting systems post go-live through enhancements and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Data Warehousing
- Design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise data warehouse solutions
- Develop and optimize data storage, retrieval, and transformation processes
- Build and manage ETL/ELT pipelines
- Ensure data integrity, performance tuning, and system scalability
- Support post go-live stabilization, troubleshooting, and enhancements
- Perform ongoing maintenance and performance optimization
Business Intelligence & Analytics
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations
- Translate business requirements into technical BI solutions
- Deliver actionable insights to stakeholders using warehouse data
- Work closely with business users to refine KPIs and reporting needs
- Support ad hoc analysis and data exploration
Architecture & Analytics Engineering (Preferred)
- Assist in defining data models and data architecture standards
- Bridge gaps between raw data sources and business-ready datasets
- Improve data governance and best practices
- Support semantic layer development and analytics engineering efforts
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Data Warehousing and BI development
- Demonstrated experience implementing solutions end-to-end (design through go-live)
- Proven experience providing post-implementation support, enhancements, and maintenance
- Strong Microsoft stack experience, including:
- SQL Server
- SSIS
- SSRS
- SSAS (Tabular or Multidimensional)
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure SQL
- Power BI
- Strong T-SQL skills
- Experience with data modeling (star schema, snowflake schema)
- Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric (if applicable)
- Analytics engineering experience (e.g., transforming raw data into business-ready models)
- Data architecture experience
- Experience working in hybrid cloud/on-prem environments
- Knowledge of data governance and best practices
- Experience supporting growing or evolving data environments
