SAFe Scrum Master to support one or more Agile teams operating within an Agile Release Train (ART). This role serves as a
servant leader and Agile coach, ensuring teams effectively apply Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe practices to deliver high-quality value at scale. The Scrum Master will facilitate team ceremonies, remove impediments, improve flow, and drive continuous improvement across teams and program-level activities.
ResponsibilitiesTeam-Level Responsibilities- Facilitate core Agile ceremonies, including:
- Iteration (Sprint) Planning
- Daily Stand-ups
- Iteration Reviews
- Iteration Retrospectives
- Coach team members on Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe principles
- Support healthy flow of work and adherence to WIP limits
- Guide teams to deliver incremental, high-quality value each iteration
- Identify/remove impediments; escalate blockers, risks, and dependencies as needed
- Foster transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Track and communicate team performance metrics (velocity, flow, predictability)
Program / ART-Level Responsibilities- Participate in and support Program Increment (PI) Planning
- Assist with PI readiness: backlog preparation, capacity planning
- Identify, track, and manage cross-team dependencies and risks
- Participate in:
- Scrum of Scrums
- ART Sync (if applicable)
- Inspect & Adapt (I\\&A) events
- Partner closely with the Release Train Engineer (RTE) to optimize ART execution
- Promote alignment with ART objectives and PI commitments
Product & Stakeholder Collaboration- Support Product Owners with backlog refinement and story readiness
- Assist with story definition, acceptance criteria, and feature decomposition
- Collaborate with Product Management, System Architecture, and other stakeholders
- Help ensure delivery aligns with business priorities and strategic goals
Required Qualifications- Proven experience as a Scrum Master in a SAFe environment
- Strong knowledge of SAFe, Scrum, Agile, and Lean principles
- Hands-on experience working within Agile Release Trains (ARTs)
- Demonstrated ability to coach teams and leaders in Agile practices
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Experience with Agile tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications- SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) certification
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale Agile transformations
- Background in software development, QA, DevOps, or product management
- Experience working in distributed or multi-team Agile environments
- Additional SAFe certifications (SA, SPC, RTE)
