Position Title: Identity & Access Management Lead

The Identity and Access Management Lead will provide day-to-day operational leadership for the Identity and Access Management function. This is a hands-on working lead role responsible for coordinating daily execution, managing work through Jira, supporting level-two approvals and escalations, tracking operational metrics and risks, and ensuring critical activities are completed at the appropriate time.
The Identity and Access Management Lead will serve as an operational representative for the identity function in stakeholder meetings, design sessions, and implementation activities. This individual will collaborate with the Identity Architect to translate strategy and technical designs into executable work plans, procedures, controls, and implementation activities. The role will also focus on improving workflows, strengthening operating procedures, and providing continuity for Identity and Access Management leadership.
This position requires the ability to work onsite in the Dallas Fort Worth area approximately three days per week.
Responsibilities:
Lead daily Identity and Access Management operational execution across access requests, approvals, tickets, escalations, access reviews, exceptions, and remediation activities.
Serve as the primary operational point of contact for Identity and Access Management stakeholders, technology teams, application owners, security, audit, and business partners.
Manage Identity and Access Management work items in Jira, including prioritization, assignment, status tracking, aging, dependencies, and escalation.
Perform or coordinate level-two reviews and approvals for identity, access, entitlement, privileged-access, and exception requests.
Establish operating rhythms for daily follow-up, weekly work reviews, risk tracking, metrics, and leadership reporting.
Monitor ticket queues, access-request backlogs, aging work, recurring issues, control exceptions, and unresolved ownership questions.
Coordinate with platform teams responsible for Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Active Directory, Saviynt, Privileged Access Management, Multi-Factor Authentication, secrets management, and application integrations.
Partner with the Identity Architect to convert designs and recommendations into executable work plans, operating procedures, controls, and implementation activities.
Identify process bottlenecks, unclear ownership, unnecessary manual steps, and opportunities for automation or standardization.
Help define and maintain Identity and Access Management procedures, runbooks, escalation paths, approval matrices, service expectations, and operating documentation.
Coordinate with organizational change management teams when new processes, tools, controls, or approval responsibilities are introduced.
Ensure analysts and technical resources follow through on data findings, remediation actions, process updates, and audit requests.
Produce concise operational metrics and status reporting that covers accomplishments, risks, priorities, dependencies, and decisions required from leadership.
Support audit and compliance activities by ensuring evidence is complete, traceable, current, and connected to the applicable process or control.
Coach and coordinate Identity and Access Management team members without requiring formal people-management authority.
Qualifications:
Seven or more years of experience in Identity and Access Management, identity operations, cybersecurity operations, Information Technology Service Management, infrastructure operations, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience leading operational work across Identity and Access Management tickets, access requests, approvals, escalations, and remediation activities.
Strong understanding of identity governance, access lifecycle management, privileged access, Multi-Factor Authentication, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and enterprise Identity and Access Management operating models.
Experience using Jira or a comparable work-management or ticketing platform.
Working knowledge of Information Technology Service Management concepts, including incident, request, change, and problem management.
Experience with queue management, service metrics, and operational reporting.
Ability to prioritize competing work, drive follow-up, identify blockers, and escalate decisions appropriately.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent Identity and Access Management in stakeholder meetings and technical design sessions.
Ability to work onsite in the Dallas Fort Worth area approximately three days per week.
Experience in critical infrastructure, electric utilities, North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection requirements, Sarbanes-Oxley controls, Information Technology General Controls, or another regulated environment is preferred.
Experience with Saviynt, SailPoint, CyberArk, Microsoft Entra ID Governance, or comparable Identity and Access Management platforms is preferred.
Information Technology Infrastructure Library certification or formal Information Technology Service Management training is preferred.
Experience with PowerShell, Application Programming Interfaces, workflow automation, operational data analysis, or reporting tools is preferred.
Experience coordinating analysts, engineers, architects, application owners, and audit or compliance stakeholders is preferred.
