Job Title: Senior Database Developer

Position Overview
The Senior Database Developer will play a critical role in designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise-grade data solutions across multiple environments. This position requires a highly skilled professional with deep expertise in SQL Server (2012, 2019, and 2022), SSIS/SSRS development, data integration pipelines, and performance tuning. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in Agile/Scrum methodologies and possess strong experience working within modern project management and DevOps tools such as Jira Software and Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO).
This role requires someone who can collaborate with cross-functional teams, translate business and technical requirements into scalable data solutions, and ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security of mission-critical databases.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases (2012-2022), including complex stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
- Perform advanced SQL performance tuning through index optimization, execution plan analysis, query refactoring, and system benchmarking.
- Develop, enhance, and optimize SSIS packages for ETL workflows, data integration, and data migration.
- Create and maintain SSRS reports and dashboards, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and automation across reporting pipelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database and ETL issues to support high availability, stability, and minimal downtime.
- Apply data quality and governance best practices, including validation, profiling, cleansing, and integrity enforcement.
- Implement and support data security measures such as encryption, access controls, and auditing in collaboration with security teams.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with product owners, analysts, and developers to define and deliver data requirements.
- Use Jira Software for project tracking and Azure DevOps for version control, CI/CD pipelines, and work item management.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of build/release pipelines and maintain traceability of requirements and deliverables.
- Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, and BI teams to ensure seamless integration of database and data solutions.
- Provide production support, incident resolution, and rootcause analysis for database and ETL-related issues.
- Support architectural discussions and contribute to longterm data platform modernization initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with SQL Server 2012, 2019, and 2022 in enterprise environments, including development of stored procedures, functions, triggers, and complex queries.
- Extensive experience with SSIS and SSRS development, deployment, and optimization.
- Strong proficiency in SQL Server performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
- Proficiency with Jira Software for project tracking, sprint ceremonies, issue management, and Agile workflow management.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum software development environments.
Other Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO) for CI/CD, repositories, pipelines, and work item tracking.
- Experience with ETL modernization, data warehousing concepts, or cloud data platforms.
- Familiarity with DevOps automation tools and database deployment frameworks.
- Understanding of enterprise security standards, compliance frameworks, and data governance practices.
