Summary

We are hiring for a Senior Identity & Access Management (IAM) Engineer to lead the design and implementation of a role-based access control program in a growing Microsoft-centric enterprise environment. This individual will serve as the organization''s IAM subject matter expert, partnering with IT, Security, and HR to establish governance, define access models, and build identity processes from the ground up. The ideal candidate combines IAM architecture expertise with hands-on engineering experience and is comfortable owning strategy, implementation, and long-term operational maturity.

Responsibilities

Design and implement an enterprise IAM program from the ground up, including building an RBAC framework.
Analyze existing permissions and access models and define enterprise roles and permission structures
Partner with HR, Cybersecurity, and other business stakeholders to align job roles with access requirements and security standards
Establish IAM governance, onboarding, offboarding, and access review processes
Manage long-term IAM roadmap and maturity initiatives
Create IAM standards, documentation, and operational processes

Must Haves

7+ yrs. of hands-on IAM experience (Sr., Staff, Principal level)
Experience building IAM/RBAC programs from scratch
Strong Identity & Access Management architecture experience with the ability to be hands-on for initial build-out
NIST security framework knowledge
Zero Trust security experience
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
Strong stakeholder management skills
Experience establishing governance, roles, permissions, and access controls

Nice-to-Haves

Government, municipality, federal, or highly regulated environment experience
GSA-related security experience
CMS-related compliance exposure
IAM tool selection/implementation experience
Healthcare experience
Team-building or management experience
Experience standing up IAM organizations or programs
Cybersecurity background
