As a Software Engineer II, you'll be responsible for building scalable, high-quality user interfaces while collaborating closely with backend and platform teams to deliver end-to-end features.

As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

• Designing and developing responsive, high-performance web applications using React, Redux Toolkit, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Building and maintaining reusable, modular UI components and shared frontend libraries.
• Collaborating with backend engineers to integrate with Python-based APIs (Flask/FastAPI).
• Translating product and UX requirements into scalable frontend architectures.
• Optimizing applications for performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Implementing state management, data fetching, and caching strategies.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• 3+ years of relevant experience and a bachelors degree in a related field.
• Show proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
• Have experience with Redux Toolkit or similar state management.
• Show solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design.
• Have experience integrating REST APIs (Python backend).
• Demonstrate familiarity with frontend performance optimization.

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $95,000 - $171,000/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
