DevOps/SRE Engineer

Role: DevOps/SRE Engineer Experience Level: 5+ years proven experience in a combination of DevOps Engineering and SRE roles, with a strong emphasis on automation, CI/CD, and cloud-native technologies. Location: San Francisco; in-office at least 2x week (Tuesday & Friday), either at office or client office.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automation tools for system health, performance, and reliability.
- Participate in the design and implementation of scalable software or system architectures.
- Design, implement, and manage continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, encompassing build automation, test automation, and deployment automation.
- Conduct post-incident reviews and implement preventive measures to avoid future incidents.
- Collaborate with development teams to embed operational considerations and automation early in the software development lifecycle.
- Manage live production environments, handle ongoing monitoring, and troubleshoot issues.
- Engage in capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning.
- Contribute to the creation and follow-through of SLOs (Service Level Objectives) and SLIs (Service Level Indicators).
- Implement and oversee security controls and compliance requirements.
- Document systems design, procedures, and training materials for internal use.
- Define best practices, identify areas for optimization, and implement process improvements
- Help clients define their needs, goals and objectives.
- Factor an understanding of client needs into our solutions.
- Be an advisor to clients, and foster trusting and collaborative relationships.

Required Qualifications
- Deep familiarity with Splunk / AppDynamics (or any APM tooling really) / SRE tooling
- Strong knowledge of troubleshooting techniques in a containerized cloud environment.
- Proficiency in Kubernetes
- Proficiency in cloud management platforms/providers.
- Proficiency with CI/CD principles and experience with implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or similar.
- Proficiency in scripting languages and automation tools.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and incident management systems.
- Familiarity with database administration and design, as well as data visualization techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with different stakeholders.
