Years of Experience:
- 5+ years in Data Governance, data management, training, change enablement, or enterprise data programs.
- Experience with Data Governance trainings, workshops, and the like.
- Experience developing governance onboarding, steward models, or literacy frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
Skills that stand out on resume
- Experience with Health and Human Services, public sector, or large enterprise environments.
- Experience developing data literacy, stewardship, governance, onboarding, or change enablement materials.
- Familiarity with business glossaries, metadata, data standards, reporting, dashboards, or governance platforms.

Summary:
The Data Governance Adoption and Literacy Coordinator will establish a functional Data Governance literacy and adoption model by developing role-based competencies, steward onboarding standards, training materials, communications coordination, governance curriculum and practical guidance aligned to the enterprise data strategy. This role will also work with North Dakota Information Technology (NDIT) to ensure alignment with statewide data governance efforts, policies, standards, etc.
Responsibilities:
• Define role-based Data Governance competencies for owners, stewards, analysts, business users.
• Develop the HHS DG literacy framework aligned to enterprise data strategy.
• Establish certification/onboarding standards and practical guidance for data stewards.
• Design a governance capability roadmap across divisions.
• Coordinate with communications and change management teams on DG awareness and adoption.
• Develop tool proficiency guidance for glossary, metadata, standards and governance platform usage.
