Hybrid every other week onsite/5 days in Westlake, TX

Our client in Texas seeks a Cloud Engineer with strong SRE, DevOps, and Kubernetes experience to deliver reliability across operations, infrastructure, and development. The role focuses on building high-scale, high-availability, and resilient services using automation, infrastructure as code, observability, and chaos testing.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $50.00 to $60.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Blend Kubernetes services expertise and reliability engineering to deliver resilient, scalable services.
  • Engineer automation and infrastructure as code to operate services at scale with high availability.
  • Design and implement scalable monitoring and health signals for container platform environments.
  • Strengthen operational processes with support and incident management teams for the cloud ecosystem.
  • Partner with cloud provider product teams to drive ongoing reliability improvements in Kubernetes offerings.
  • Engage with clients and partners to anticipate needs and guide execution as their advocate.
  • Collaborate with the Cloud Provider Enablement Platform and SRE teams to enable reliable cloud adoption.

Experience Requirements:
  • 5 to 7 years deploying and supporting distributed multi-tier systems at scale.
  • 5+ years in cloud development and migration on AWS or Azure.
  • Production experience running Kubernetes workloads on EKS, AKS, or Rancher.
  • Experience managing and maintaining Kubernetes clusters on EKS, AKS, and Rancher.
  • Experience building and deploying Docker images, including Docker Compose.
  • Hands-on Kubernetes skills and knowledge.
  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins Core and authoring declarative CI/CD pipelines and libraries.
  • Experience with Git or other distributed version control systems.
  • Ability to automate with Python and shell scripting.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as IAM, ARM, Terraform, or Chef.
  • Experience creating and maintaining logging, monitoring, and alerting with Datadog and Splunk.
  • Hands-on work with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, OpenTelemetry, or Datadog.
  • Experience managing and interpreting large datasets with query languages and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience in software development with Python, NodeJS, or Java with focus on SDLC and automation.
  • Incident and crisis management experience supporting critical applications.
  • Understanding of cloud computing and DevOps concepts including CI/CD pipelines.
  • Practical experience building cloud-hosted and cloud-native enterprise applications using AWS or Azure services for reliability, observability, and orchestration.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least one cloud certification, AWS or Azure preferred.
