BUSINESS ANALYST - Pasadena

Hybrid Role - 1-2 Days on-site  LOCAL CANDIDATES (50 miles) ONLY - PASADENA
The estimated pay range for this position is USD $55.00/hr - $60.00/hr.
W2 ONLY - No C2C, 1099, sponsorship, or 3rd Party
Six+ month contract

Business Analyst (3 - 6 years experience) - This is NOT a senior level role
  • Conduct requirements gathering sessions with business units, subject matter experts, vendors, and technical teams.
  • Analyze and document business requirements, functional specifications, workflows, use cases, and process diagrams.
  • Identify gaps, dependencies, risks, and impacts to current processes and systems.

Process Improvement & Documentation
  • Map and evaluate existing business processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop future-state process models and recommend solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience.
  • Create and maintain process maps, user guides, and supporting documentation.

Project Support
  • Support and/or lead projects with requirements management, stakeholder communication, task tracking, and status reporting.
  • Assist in project planning and provide input on scoping, timelines, and resource needs.
  • Participate in project meetings, workshops, demonstrations, and testing activities.

Testing & Validation
  • Support UAT by developing test cases, coordinating test sessions, logging defects, and validating functionality.
  • Assist project teams in confirming that delivered solutions meet business requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure shared understanding of requirements and impacts.
  • Facilitate communication between business and technical teams to ensure alignment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Information Technology) or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role.
  • Experience working within a PMO or formal project delivery environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with business analysis tools (Visio, JIRA, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite and Project (portfolio) Management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in public sector, pension administration, finance, or regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (PMI, Agile).
  • Experience supporting large-scale technology modernization initiatives.

Compensation:
The estimated pay range for this position is USD $55.00/hr - $60.00/hr and is an Exempt role.
Exact compensation and offers of employment are dependent on circumstances of each case and will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, licenses or certifications, and location.

This role requires a strong understanding of both business processes and technology, allowing the individual to analyze problems, define requirements, and recommend solutions that improve efficiency and achieve business objectives. This role plays a key part in optimizing processes, improving efficiency, and driving strategic initiatives forward.
