Job Description:

  • Write, optimize, test, and trouble shoot complex SQL in Snowflake and Oracle environments.
  • Implement transformation logic, conformed structures, crosswalks, reference data, historical-data loads, incremental processing, and reconciliation controls.
  • Support identity matching, survivorship, mastered identity records, and related master-data processes as defined by CLIENT architecture and governance decisions.
  • Work with source-system experts to profile data, identify anomalies, document rules, and resolve data-quality issues.
  • Develop automated data-quality checks, exception handling, auditability, monitoring, logging, and operational alerting.
  • Create unit, integration, regression, performance, and reconciliation tests for data pipelines.
  • Tune queries and workloads for performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Use source control, code review, continuous integration and deployment, and environment-promotion practices adopted by CLIENT.
  • Document data flows, transformations, dependencies, runbooks, recovery procedures, and production-support requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production data issues in Snowflake, the Oracle ODS, and associated pipelines as assigned.
  • Transfer knowledge to CLIENT staff and assist in establishing repeatable data-engineering standards and patterns.

Qualified candidates would have the following:

  • Demonstrated professional experience performing hands-on data engineering in complex production environments.
  • Advanced SQL development and performance-tuning skills.
  • Production experience with Snowflake, including data loading, transformation, security-aware development, workload optimization, and operational support.
  • Experience developing and supporting data pipelines using modern orchestration, ELT, ETL, or transformation tooling.
  • Experience with dimensional modeling, normalized data structures, slowly changing dimensions, historical-data management, and source-to-target mapping.
  • Experience implementing automated testing, data-quality controls, reconciliation, monitoring, and error handling.
  • Experience with Git-based source control and structured development, testing, and deployment practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle databases and enterprise ODS or data warehouse environments.
  • Experience integrating PeopleSoft, Ellucian Banner, Slate, Canvas, or comparable higher-education systems.

  • Experience with Snowflake-native capabilities and tools such as dbt, Informatica, or comparable enterprise data-integration platforms.
  • Experience supporting higher education, especially student, finance, human resources, admissions, learning-management, or institutional-reporting data.
  • Experience handling regulated or confidential data, including FERPA-protected student records or comparable data-protection requirements.
  • Availability to work a hybrid schedule and come on-site in Norman, Oklahoma, when beneficial to the project.
  • Completion of a vendor-provided background check or willingness to complete an acceptable background check before receiving CLIENT system or data access.
