We are continuing to grow, and are looking for a SQL Database Administrator (DBA) / SQL Administrator to join our team.

We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Database Administrator (DBA) / SQL Administrator to manage and maintain our database and IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be a database guru with deep expertise in SQL Server administration, optimization, and troubleshooting, as well as possessing strong SQL administration and supporting server and infrastructure skills. You will be responsible for ensuring database availability, security, and performance while also managing server infrastructure and IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases, on-prem, hosted, and in Azure.
- Monitor database performance, tuning queries, and optimizing indexes.
- Perform backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning.
- Implement and manage database security, including access controls and encryption.
- Implement and manage HA/DR scenarios (including AOAG, shared storage clusters, third party solutions) for unique deployment situations.
- Develop and maintain database documentation and best practices.
Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely within the ITS team on SQL health and performance
- Lead as needed for SQL maintenace, backups, monitoring, and reporting
- Design HA/DR scenarios for on-prem, hosted, and cloud deployments
- Work closely with developers to optimize queries and improve application performance.
- Provide deep dive investigation for application and database-related issues.
- Develop and maintain documentation for IT processes and database configurations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required:
- 7+ years of experience in SQL Server database administration.
- Strong experience with Windows Server and/or Linux administration.
- Expertise in SQL performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
- Proficiency in backup strategies, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
- Hands-on experience with PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with cloud platforms, DBaaS offerings (Azure).
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Docker, etc.).
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.) is a plus.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, MCSA, or RHCSA.
