Position Details
Job Title: Senior Software Engineer Charles River IMS
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Location: Boston, Quincy, or Burlington, MA
Work Model: Hybrid 4 Days Onsite per Week
Job Summary
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the enhancement, development, and maintenance of Charles River IMS modules as part of an Agile Scrum team. You will play a key role in designing, developing, testing, and supporting software solutions that power investment management and financial services platforms.
Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug software enhancements and solutions.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to translate business requirements into scalable software solutions.
  • Participate in application and product architecture design discussions.
  • Develop applications using technologies such as Java, C#, SQL, JavaScript, and related technologies.
  • Perform code reviews and provide technical recommendations.
  • Develop unit tests and automation tests to ensure software quality.
  • Execute manual testing and support troubleshooting efforts.
  • Contribute to technical design documents, API documentation, and customer-facing documentation.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 4 7 years of software engineering experience, preferably within Financial Services environments.
  • Strong experience with object-oriented programming and software development best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Java and/or C#
  • SQL and Relational Databases
  • JavaScript
  • Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Experience

  • 2 5 years of Financial Services domain experience in one or more of the following:
  • Portfolio Management
  • Trading Systems
  • Compliance
  • Post-Trade Processing
  • IBOR (Investment Book of Record)
  • Wealth Management
  • Experience working on Charles River IMS or similar investment management platforms.
  • Minimum 3 years of Agile development experience.
