Summary

Job Number: R0252080

Test and Evaluation Engineer
The Opportunity:

When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development-and that means rigorous testing. That's why we need you, an experienced Test and Evaluation Engineer who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible.

As a Test and Evaluation Engineer, you'll use your experience to work with testers, developers, and engineers to evaluate software developed for the Department of Navy. You'll create a test plan with test cases based on user stories. Using automated and manual processes, you'll generate data and implement the test cases to observe how the software performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool.

You'll automate continuous security and performance testing and monitor the health of a Navy system. This is an opportunity to supercharge your skills by writing the code to test. You'll also broaden your experience in large scale systems while sharing your testing experience with your team. Work with us as we develop software solutions to secure our defense networks.

As a Test and Evaluation Engineer, you'll serve as a member of a multidisciplinary product team responsible for planning, conducting, documenting, and improving engineering test and evaluation activities for assigned products, systems, subsystems, support equipment, hardware assemblies, and associated technical documentation. You will work directly for the Product Owner within a SAFe Agile delivery environment. You'll convert product objectives, user needs, system requirements, and acceptance criteria into measurable test activities and objective evidence that supports technical decisions, product increments, configuration-control decisions, and government acceptance. The position integrates engineering, test, logistics, configuration management, fabrication, documentation, and stakeholder inputs to ensure delivered capabilities are technically sound, traceable to approved requirements, supportable, and ready for operational use.

Join us. The world can't wait.

You Have:
  • 3+ years of experience supporting engineering test and evaluation, systems integration, verification and validation, hardware testing, or systems engineering
  • Experience developing or executing test procedures, collecting and analyzing test data, documenting test results, and tracking deficiencies through resolution
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Physical Science, or 8+ years of experience as a test and evaluation engineer in lieu of a degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience supporting Department of War, Navy, warfare center, acquisition-program, research-and-development, or comparable federal technical programs
  • Experience in a SAFe Agile, Agile product-delivery, integrated product team, or DevSecOps environment
  • Experience using product data management, configuration management, requirements management, defect tracking, or Agile workflow tools
  • Experience testing electronic, electrical, mechanical, communications, software-enabled, or integrated hardware or software systems
  • Experience with cable fabrication, assembly inspection, first-article inspection, functional testing, or production-quality assurance
  • Systems Engineering, Test and Evaluation, Agile, SAFe, Quality Assurance, Configuration Management, or Project Management Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
