Job Title: Senior Data Architect – SAS Grid to Google Cloud Platform Migration

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect to lead the assessment, discovery, architecture, and solution design for the migration of enterprise data platforms from SAS Grid environments to Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in SAS Grid architecture, data integration, data migration strategies, and cloud-native data solutions on Google Cloud Platform.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Analyze and document the current SAS Grid architecture, workloads, data flows, dependencies, and operational processes.

·         Lead discovery workshops with business and technical stakeholders to assess migration requirements and identify challenges.

·         Design end-to-end migration strategies for moving data, analytics workloads, and processing frameworks from SAS Grid to Google Cloud Platform.

·         Develop target-state architecture and solution blueprints aligned with business objectives and cloud best practices.

·         Evaluate existing SAS-based ETL, reporting, and analytical processes and recommend modernization opportunities within Google Cloud Platform.

·         Define data migration approaches, including data validation, reconciliation, performance optimization, and cutover strategies.

·         Collaborate with infrastructure, data engineering, security, and application teams throughout the migration lifecycle.

·         Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans associated with the migration program.

·         Create architecture documentation, technical specifications, and implementation roadmaps.

·         Provide technical leadership and guidance during migration planning and execution phases.

Required Qualifications:

·         10+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or Enterprise Data Platforms.

·         Strong hands-on experience with SAS Grid architecture, administration, and workload management.

·         Proven experience performing discovery, assessment, and solutioning activities for large-scale data migration initiatives.

·         Experience designing and executing migrations from legacy or on-premises analytics platforms to cloud environments.

·         Strong understanding of data integration, ETL processes, data warehousing, and analytics platforms.

·         Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) services related to data and analytics.

·         Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Experience migrating SAS workloads to Google Cloud Platform-native services.

·         Knowledge of BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataproc, Dataflow, Composer, and related Google Cloud Platform data services.

·         Experience with cloud architecture frameworks and migration methodologies.

·         Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance requirements in cloud environments.
