Candidate Eligibility

Position Overview
The Georgia Department of Revenue is seeking an Applications Developer 1 to support all aspects of a configured Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) FASTDS-VS application, which consists of six modules and additional subsystems.
The selected candidate will support application configuration, development, testing, debugging, and production support activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze application requirements.
- Perform application configuration tasks.
- Configure reference tables.
- Set up users and access permissions for various application functions.
- Develop application changes based on change requests.
- Perform scripting and software debugging.
- Manage source control activities.
- Perform application testing.
- Prepare implementation specifications.
- Provide production application support.
- Work with different software development methodologies, including traditional and Agile approaches.
- Apply coding standards and development best practices.
- Analyze and resolve application-related issues.
- Collaborate with technical and business teams as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree required.
- Preferred degree fields include:
- Computer Science
- Computer/Management Information Systems
- Mathematics
- Minimum 2 years of experience with a SQL database.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Object-Oriented development, including .NET, Java, C#, or VB.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of software development methodologies, standards, and coding best practices.
- Enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.
