Role OverviewWe are seeking a QA Lead Engineer to drive the quality assurance strategy for a critical identity and access management modernization project. This role involves transitioning from a legacy on-premise platform to a modern, cloud-based solution (Okta). The ideal candidate will establish a new QA function, build an automation framework from the ground up, and lead the charge on all testing efforts. This position requires hands-on technical expertise and the ability to guide the team toward advanced QA practices.
Key Responsibilities- Own and manage the QA project scope, including driving strategy, process, and execution.
- Design and architect the test automation framework, including tool selection and CI/CD pipeline integration.
- Track and communicate test progress, coverage, and defect metrics to stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the QA team and the broader project team, including Business Analysts and Developers.
- Gather requirements and translate them into actionable test scenarios and cases.
- Organize test cases into functional, end-to-end, and integration test suites.
- Mentor a team of software quality assurance engineers and drive best practices.
- Evaluate current testing implementations and perform gap analysis to provide strategic technical direction.
Required Qualifications- Experience in manual QA, including test case design, execution, and defect tracking.
- Demonstrated experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
- Proficiency in Java for writing automation scripts.
- Hands-on experience with browser-based UI test automation tools such as Selenium or Playwright.
- Experience with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) using Cucumber.
- Knowledge of API testing with tools like Postman to validate REST APIs.
- Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) or Single Sign-On (SSO) platforms (e.g., SiteMinder, Okta).
- Communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience within the healthcare industry.
- Exposure to AI/ML testing concepts.
