Windows Systems Administrator

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Windows Systems Administrator to support pre-production environments within an Environment Management Group. This role is responsible for identifying, analyzing, monitoring, supporting, architecting, and engineering solutions across operating systems, middleware, applications, and databases. The ideal candidate will bring strong Windows Server administration experience, hands-on automation skills, and experience working with modern DevOps tools and structured ticketing processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Deploy, smoke test, and validate new code releases across pre-production environments.
• Perform backup and restore activities to support rollback to previous versions when needed.
• Maintain and control access to test environments using the principle of least privilege.
• Provide weekly status reporting for assigned projects and environment activities.
• Review environment performance and recommend improvements.
• Manage assigned tickets and tasks with clear documentation of support provided, recommended solutions, and implemented improvements.
• Provide technical assistance to other Systems Administrators as needed.
• Understand and document how the full environment and its dependencies are integrated.
• Specify, configure, and build new environments as required.
• Monitor and maintain standard documentation for policies, procedures, and operational practices.
• Manage multiple tasks effectively while supporting QA and Development teams with timely communication and customer-focused service.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Information Technology and customer service-focused technical support.
• Strong experience administering Windows Server platforms, including Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
• Hands-on experience with SQL clustering and PowerShell scripting.
• Strong automation/coding skills; automation experience is required.
• Experience with IIS configuration, Active Directory, DNS, VLANs, NetScaler, and related infrastructure technologies.
• Experience using Bitbucket, Artifactory, GitLab, and ticketing systems/processes.
• Familiarity with SQL connections and basic queries, Oracle connections, and VMware.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including attentive listening and clear information sharing.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including QA, Development, and infrastructure teams.
• Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills with the ability to interact positively with teammates at all levels.

Preferred Skills
· Experience supporting pre-production, QA, or development environments.
· Experience with release validation, rollback planning, and environment dependency documentation.
· Exposure to middleware, application support, database connectivity, and infrastructure automation.
· Experience working in structured IT service management or ticketing environments.
