The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for supporting the firm s global LAN/WAN, and Wireless infrastructure across the firm s data center, campus, branch, and cloud environments. This role will leverage strong Cisco networking expertise to ensure resilient connectivity and optimized performance for business-critical applications.
Responsibilities include providing third level technical support for all infrastructure based projects including design, equipment installation and maintenance, troubleshooting, system monitoring and alerting and timely problem resolution for the firm s 24x7 environment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Expertise designing scalable LAN/WAN, WLAN, and data center network solutions (routing, switching, wireless, SD-WAN, and ACLs, Segmentation).
Sound knowledge of network architecture standards, designs, and best practices.
In-depth experience implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting converged global network infrastructure consisting of the following: Cisco IOS, NXOS, 802.1x, vPC, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VPNs, Access Lists, and LAN/WAN/Wireless routing protocols. VLAN Trunking and SAN switching, FCOE and FC environments
In-depth hands on experience with Cisco Nexus 9300, Catalyst 3800, 9300, 9400, 9500, Catalyst Wireless Controllers 9800 & APs, ISR 4400, 8300, and SilverPeak SDWAN
Provide support for all infrastructure based projects including equipment installation, upgrade, maintenance, troubleshooting, system monitoring and alerting and timely problem resolution.
Maintain accurate diagrams, configurations, and operating procedures for all network devices globally.
REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
5-10+ years of hands-on experience supporting a Cisco critical core enterprise infrastructure.
Cisco CCNP and/or CCIE required.
Technical Skills
Strong expertise in: o Routing & Switching: OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, STP, VLAN, MULTICAST, EtherChannel, HSRP/VRRP, FCOE, STP, RSTP, VXLAN, , TRUNKING, LACP/PAGP, QOS, etc.
o Wireless Management: ISE Policy Mgmt., 802.1x Security, RADIUS, Wireless Controllers.
o Security: ACLs, DMZ, TACACS, Palo Alto Firewall routing configuration mgmt. Meraki VPN/Router Mgmt.
o SD-WAN (SilverPeak, Meraki).
o Cloud Networking: Azure Cloud network/infrastructure technologies. Azure peering and NSGs networking.
o Troubleshooting: Packet capture/analysis, performance tuning, and root cause analysis.
Experience with: o Network monitoring & management tools (LogicMonitor, Cisco DNA Center, ThousandEyes, etc.).
o Proficiency in Change and Incident management.
o Software-defined networking (Cisco SD-Access, ACI, VXLAN/EVPN).
o Experience with VMware Datacenter virtualization technologies VLAN Trunking and SAN switching, FCOE and FC environments
