Role Overview We are seeking a senior SAP S/4HANA Utilities (IS-U) Consultant with FERC and regulatory reporting experience to serve as a focal AMS resource for a large, regulated utilities environment.
This role will provide ongoing application support while also contributing to the modernization of regulatory and financial reporting processes.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of SAP IS-U functional expertise, Finance / regulatory reporting knowledge, and hands-on experience supporting meter-to-cash and AMI data flows in a utilities landscape.
Key Responsibilities
SAP Utilities (IS-U / S/4HANA Utilities) Provide AMS support for SAP S/4HANA Utilities, including: Meter-to-Cash business processes Billing and invoicing Customer care Integration across generation, transmission, distribution, and retail Support and troubleshoot AMI data flows into SAP, including validation and reconciliation Resolve incidents, service requests, and defects across IS-U functional areas Support enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives Finance,
Treasury & Regulatory Reporting Support Finance and Treasury operations, including month-end and regulatory close activities Assist with FERC and regulatory reporting (e.g., Form 1, 2/2A, 3-Q as applicable)
Perform reconciliations between SAP operational data and regulatory reports Support audit inquiries and regulatory data validation Reporting Modernization Support current-state reporting (including spreadsheet-based reporting) Participate in initiatives to modernize reporting, potentially leveraging: SAP standard reporting Custom reports BW/BW-4HANA SAP Analytics Cloud or similar tools Help reduce manual processes and improve auditability and data consistency
Required Qualifications
8+ years of SAP experience, with strong focus on SAP IS-U / Utilities Hands-on experience supporting S/4HANA Utilities or ECC IS-U Demonstrated experience with FERC and regulatory reporting in a utilities environment Strong understanding of meter-to-cash processes and utilities business operations
Experience supporting AMS / run operations in a production SAP landscape Ability to work independently as a primary/focal support resource Strong communication skills; able to engage with IT, Finance, and Regulatory stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with electric and/or gas utilities
Familiarity with AMI integrations and data validation Exposure to reporting modernization initiatives
Prior experience supporting large regulated utilities or public power entities
Understanding of audit and compliance requirements in regulated environments
