This role supports production by conducting in-process checks, assisting operators with measurement techniques, and identifying quality issues early to prevent defects and downtime. The position requires mobility, strong technical skills, and the ability to work independently across different machines and product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

In-Process Inspection

Perform routine in-process inspections across multiple machines and work centers.

Conduct first-piece and periodic checks to verify conformance to print and process requirements.

Inspect a variety of complex machined components and assemblies.

Verify critical dimensions such as:

Diameters and depths

Threads (Go/No-Go verification)

Surface finishes

Basic geometric features (runout, flatness, perpendicularity)

Floor Support

Act as a roaming quality resource supporting machinists and setup personnel.

Assist operators with proper use of inspection tools and measurement techniques.

Respond quickly to quality concerns, out-of-tolerance conditions, and production questions.

Help troubleshoot minor process or measurement issues on the floor.

Process Monitoring:

Monitor consistency of parts throughout production runs.

Identify early signs of tool wear, drift, or process instability.

Escalate issues to senior inspectors, quality engineers, or supervisors when needed.

Documentation & Reporting

Record inspection results accurately and in a timely manner.

Maintain inspection logs, check sheets, and digital records.

Compliance & Quality Standards:

Follow all quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans.

Support adherence to internal quality systems and regulatory requirements.

Ensure nonconforming material is properly identified and segregated.
