American Computer Services Inc. is hiring a Lead DevOps Engineer and Terraform Expert to work in an Agile environment, modernizing mission-critical applications and re-architecting systems to leverage industry-leading frameworks and deliver exceptional service to both internal and external users.
YOU MUST have:
· Deep expertise in Terraform.
· Proven track record in developing AWS services, particularly Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).
· Extensive experience designing, building, and maintaining Istio service mesh within an EKS cluster.
To be successful, you will have:
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Mastery
- Terraform & TypeScript Expertise: Hands-on experience designing and maintaining AWS infrastructure using Terraform and TypeScript to ensure high performance and reliability.
- Infrastructure Integrity: A proven ability to develop robust unit and integration tests to guarantee the stability and security of your IaC.
- CDK Proficiency: Experience building efficient, reusable, and reliable infrastructure using the AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK).
Advanced AWS & Kubernetes Leadership
- EKS Specialization: Experience in AWS services, with a deep focus on Amazon EKS development and management.
- Service Mesh Architecture: Experience architecting and sustaining Istio service mesh within EKS clusters to ensure secure, seamless service interactions.
- Full-Stack AWS Management: Expert-level configuration of services including EC2, ECR, Cognito, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, and CloudFront.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Experience with Docker, microservices frameworks, and using Helm charts to streamline resource packaging and deployments.
DevOps Lifecycle & Performance
- CI/CD Leadership: Experience spearheading automated deployment pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
- Observability & Monitoring: Skill in collecting telemetry and building comprehensive dashboards/alerts using FluentBit, CloudWatch, and Dynatrace to gain deep operational insights.
- Networking & Security: A rock-solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS) and experience enforcing security best practices within AWS environments.
Collaborative Leadership
- Technical Mentorship: The ability to provide authoritative guidance and technical leadership, influencing and mentoring diverse engineering teams.
- Developer Advocacy: A passion for acting as an advocate for Cloud capabilities, working across teams to design user-friendly hybrid cloud environments.

Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a computer-related program.
