Oracle APEX Developer SME

Location: Washington, D.C. (On-site)

Role Overview

We are seeking an Oracle APEX Developer SME for a position onsite in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will be personable and articulate, focusing on ensuring customer needs are met effectively. This role requires a self-starter who can work with limited supervision and possesses communication skills to interface with customers, understand requirements, and translate them into actionable solutions. This position requires being onsite 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the direction of the program manager to support the full lifecycle development of custom Oracle Applications, primarily using the Oracle APEX toolset.
  • Perform advanced use of Oracle APEX 21 and above.
  • Utilize Oracle Integrated Development Environments such as Quest Toad and Oracle SQL Developer.
  • Design and manipulate web content dynamically using JQuery, Ajax, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
  • Create dynamic reports within the Oracle APEX environment and support the advanced use of Oracle Database products version 11 and above.
  • Support Oracle database objects, including tables, indexes, directories, sequences, and triggers.
  • Support development with PL/SQL, Java, Windows PowerShell, and Unix shell scripting.
  • Manage the storage, retrieval, and manipulation of unstructured data (BLOBs, CLOBs, JSON, XMLType) in an Oracle environment.
  • Integrate and manage BI Publisher templates and web services.
  • Analyze existing Oracle Forms applications and design migration strategies to scalable web applications using Oracle Apex.
  • Develop APIs and connections to external applications.
  • Deliver enterprise-level workflow-centric applications.
  • Build logical functions and algorithms to automate business processes.
Required Qualifications
  • A BS degree and 12-15 years of prior relevant experience or a Master's degree with 10-13 years of prior relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with secure network programming in an Oracle environment (e.g., security certificates, HTTPS callouts).
  • Experience with the full lifecycle development of custom Oracle Applications, including the Oracle APEX toolset.
  • Experience with Oracle Integrated Development Environments such as Quest Toad and Oracle SQL Developer.
  • Experience with JQuery, Ajax, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
  • Experience with PL/SQL, Java, Windows PowerShell, and Unix shell scripting.
  • Experience with storage, retrieval, and manipulation of unstructured data (BLOBs, CLOBs, JSON, XMLType).
  • Experience with data migration tools and techniques.

Professional Skills:
  • Experience establishing goals and meeting project plan objectives.
  • Ability to write and maintain system documentation.
  • Communication and teamwork skills.
  • Agile development experience.
  • Customer interface experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Oracle Database products version 11 and above.
  • Experience with Oracle Forms and Reports version 10G or higher.
  • Experience with Oracle APEX 4.0 and above.
  • Experience troubleshooting operational issues.
  • Government contracting experience.
