Summary

Job Title: Data Qualitv Analvst
Location: NYC, NY (Hybrid)
Platform:
The Data Quality IT team at Fortress is mandated to implement a platform to ensure our data is the highest level of quality, consistency, and usability to support both day-to-day operations and strategic decision-making across the irm. Ihis includes adhering to governance standards, monitoring data integrity, implementing automated controls and partnering closely with business stakeholders on ongoing training, remediation, and enhancements
Position:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated, and curious technical data analyst who can work directly with users n the front to back office and various IT teams to participate in building out the data quality platform. As a member of the Data Quality IT team, you would:
  • Gain an understanding of the business and IT processes, logic, and applications supporting various Fortress pusiness functions to effectively profile datasets that require ongoing monitoring to ensure completeness accuracy, validity, and freshness
  • Collaborate with the Data Governance team to build a framework that can be implemented across teams which includes a series of reconciliations, exceptions checks, etc to enforce metadata, lineage, and stewardship practices; maintain documentation tor data quality rules, business controls, and workflows Work with data engineers, analysts, and QA teams to troubleshoot data issues, identify gaps, and maintair data hygiene.
  • e Partner with stakeholders to design interactive and insightful dashboards/reports that would highlight data discrepancies and develop metrics to trend and score the current state ot data quality.
Required Skills:
  • Deep experience in establishing and enforcing data quality standards, monitoring data integrity, resolving data issues, comparisor datasets, and ensuring completeness and consistency across business lines/systems.
  • Skilled in identifying root causes, defining controls, and partnering with stakeholders to uphold firmwide data accuracy.
  • Hands-on experience with data cataloging, lineage, and quality monitoring tools (e.g., Atlan, Alation Qualytics, Collibra). Ability to translate business processes into clear, structured diagrams (swim lanes, data flows, process maps) using Visio or Lucid chart to system design, data lineage, and operational clarity
  • Proficient with PivotTables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF/IFS, and multi-tab data blending to create accurate summaries and perform detailed data quality checks for business users.
  • Experience building reports using predefined views and custom SOL queries; adept at joining multiple date sources, creating calculated tields and parameters; Python is a plus
  • Attention to detail, excellent in communications, have analytical and problem-solving abil ties; able to operate effectively and independently in an evolving environment
