Summary
Pay Range: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
This role focuses on supporting the distribution inspection and maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with state regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will assist with reviewing reliability data, managing customer interconnection applications, and providing technical support for the distribution system.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate and direct a solid commitment to all aspects of safety
- Develop familiarity with state regulatory requirements for distribution inspection and maintenance
- Assist with generating annual PM inspection program package by identifying work to be completed, preparing SAP forms and spreadsheets, and monitoring progress
- Maintain all PM inspection information and update orders as necessary
- Perform regulatory required safety and security inspections
- Assist with review and interpretation of reliability data from various systems to prioritize work
- Respond in a timely manner to customer and commission inquiries concerning reliability and voltage conditions
- Manage Distribution Customer Distributed Generation Application Mailbox
- Contact and assist customers with proper completion of their applications
- Maintain a tracking database of all interconnection applications and installations
- Perform technical reviews for Level 1 interconnection applications
- Direct Level 2 or higher interconnection applications to the appropriate engineer/designer
- Serve as liaison to assist designers, customers, and Meter Services to ensure appropriate applications and agreements are completed
- Provide assistance during emergencies and storm-related activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or related discipline with 0-1 years of related work experience, OR Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or related discipline with 2-3 years of related work experience, OR High School Diploma (or GED) with 4+ years of related work experience
- Knowledge of construction and maintenance practices, procedures, work methods, materials, equipment, and tools used to perform construction and maintenance work activities
- Current knowledge of National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and National Electric Code (NEC)
- Ability to interpret work requests, engineering drawings, schematics, equipment instruction manuals and procedures
- Working knowledge of the purpose, function, and operating characteristics of equipment, and residential, commercial, and utility electrical distribution and control systems
- Ability to develop, collect, organize, and analyze information from a variety of sources to develop reports
- Professionalism to work with engineer and management personnel, and interface with customers, contractors, and the general public

- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a personal vehicle to commute to various facilities and locations as required and possess a valid driver's license
Desired skills:
- Experience with PC software applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.), Outlook, SAP, geographical information system (GIS), customer request work scheduling (CREWS), power outage reporting system (PowerOn), and computer-aided drafting (CAD/AutoCAD)
- Experience with database query tools (Hyperion/BRIO, Business Explorer Analyzer (BEX), Cognos)
- Experience using Visual Basic is a plus
