Location: Merrifield, Virginia (Hybrid)
Role Overview
We are seeking a mid to senior-level Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join a team focused on developing innovative experiences using modern technologies. In this role, you will work within a Scrum environment to test software applications and features, develop automated test packages, and perform both functional and performance testing. You will also provide support for existing software applications, including issue analysis and resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with engineers to troubleshoot and remediate automation issues in testing and deployment environments.
- Collaborate with developers and business stakeholders to automate acceptance criteria.
- Understand and implement agile development methodologies, participating in all Scrum ceremonies.
- Create and execute test cases based on project documents, customer demands, and product objectives.
- Test complex API, web, and mobile-based applications that reference database back-end systems.
- Support non-functional requirements, such as performance testing.
- Set up, maintain, and perform test automation frameworks on multiple platforms, including Mobile, Desktop, and Web.
- Own the end-to-end test strategy, including analysis, test plan design, and implementation of test automation.
- Manage the final quality on production releases.
- Develop, execute, and maintain automation test scripts for UI, API Services, and databases.
- Design customer-centric automation test processes for all product development.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of overall SDET and/or development hands-on experience.
- A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in software test automation, including framework creation and maintenance.
- At least 2 years of mobile application test automation experience for Android and/or iOS, Web, and API.
- A minimum of 2 years of API Automation Testing experience.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, JUnit, Selenium, and Cucumber.
- Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD), and Agile methodologies.
- Proficiency in Java and writing functional automation for UI/API.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium Scripting, SQL querying, and cloud-hosted testing platforms like Perfecto.
- Experience with cloud technology platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as Service Now or Jira.
- A solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
