Role Overview
We are seeking a Cloud Architect / Developer SME to design, build, and secure large-scale Azure Government environments that support mission-critical federal systems. This role involves architecting secure and scalable cloud infrastructures, implementing security controls, and guiding engineering teams on cloud best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect secure, scalable Azure GovCloud infrastructures and network connectivity.
- Design cloud-native data platforms, pipelines, and analytics architectures.
- Automate cloud provisioning with Terraform, ARM, or Bicep to ensure consistent, FedRAMP-compliant environments.
- Implement Azure AD, RBAC, least-privilege, encryption, and NIST-aligned security controls.
- Apply DISA STIGs and CIS benchmarks; lead architecture reviews and documentation.
- Drive FinOps optimization and guide engineering teams on cloud best practices.
- Migrate unclassified systems to Azure Government and secret environments to the Azure Secret Cloud.
- Modernize systems with a focus on Platform as a Service (PaaS) and cloud-native solutions where possible.
- Utilize the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and the Azure Well-Architected Framework.
Required Qualifications
Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree, or equivalent experience.
Experience: 10+ years of cloud engineering or architecture experience, including work with the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and the Azure Well-Architected Framework.
Technical Skills: Expertise in Azure, Terraform/Bicep, networking, automation, and security. Familiarity with Ansible, PowerShell DSC, and modern development tools and languages is also required.
Certifications: One or more of the following: Azure Architect, Azure Engineer, CISSP, or equivalent.
Security Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Secret or higher clearance.
Citizenship: ship is required.
