Summary

Job Summary

We are looking for a Lead Power BI Developer who will own the BI reporting and analytics platform, drive design standards, and lead a team of BI developers and analysts. You will work closely with business stakeholders and data engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-performance BI solutions that enable data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of Power BI dashboards and reports

  • Own BI architecture, data modeling standards, and reporting best practices

  • Review and guide team on DAX, Power Query, and data modeling approaches

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and define KPIs

  • Work closely with Data Engineering on data pipelines, data quality, and data models

  • Ensure performance optimization of reports, datasets, and semantic models

  • Define and enforce governance, security (RLS), and deployment standards in Power BI

  • Mentor and manage Power BI developers and analysts

  • Drive adoption of Power BI across the organization and improve self-service BI

  • Oversee release management, UAT support, and production support

  • Document architecture, standards, and BI solutions

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years in BI / Analytics, with 4+ years of hands-on Power BI experience

  • Deep expertise in:

    • Power BI (Desktop, Service, Gateways, Workspaces)

    • DAX, Power Query (M)

    • Data modeling (star/snowflake schemas, semantic models)

  • Strong SQL skills (SQL Server / Azure SQL / similar)

  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and analytics architecture

  • Experience leading BI teams or acting as a technical lead

  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and translating business needs into BI solutions

  • Experience with performance tuning and large-scale Power BI deployments

  • Knowledge of security, governance, and best practices in Power BI

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or Databricks

  • Experience with CI/CD for Power BI and semantic models

  • Exposure to Python or other scripting for data preparation

  • Experience in enterprise BI environments
