The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a Senior Staff Engineer with 15+ years of experience. This is a high-visibility role within a multi-site business unit that designs and manufactures mission-critical sensing systems for the aerospace industry. We are looking for a technical visionary who can fuse sophisticated mechanical design with strategic project leadership to architect the next generation of sensing technology.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect sophisticated electromechanical sensing solutions, including pressure, speed, and thermal instruments, from initial concept through flight certification.

  • Champion the professional development of early-career engineering staff through proactive technical mentorship and coaching.

  • Synthesize complex 3D assemblies within SolidWorks, meticulously selecting aerospace-grade materials and defining advanced manufacturing methodologies.

  • Execute rigorous analytical validations, utilizing hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to verify structural integrity, thermal resilience, and fatigue life.

  • Author comprehensive technical dossiers, encompassing failure mode effects analyses (FMEA), rigorous qualification procedures, and detailed design reports.

  • Direct the technical evolution of the organization by serving as the authority on design reviews and standardizing the engineering Body of Knowledge (BOK).

  • Drive the bid and proposal lifecycle by evaluating client specifications and engineering commercially viable, high-performance solutions.

What You Bring

  • Educational Excellence: A BS in Mechanical Engineering is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

  • Industry Expertise: 15+ years of seasoned experience designing electromechanical devices within a highly regulated sector, ideally aerospace.

  • Technical Mastery: Deep proficiency in MEMS pressure sensor architecture, including specialized knowledge in testing, compensation, and high-temperature survivability.

  • Analytical Rigor: Expert-level command of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodologies.

  • Environmental Engineering: Proven success designing components capable of withstanding extreme thermal cycling and severe vibration profiles.

  • Software Fluency: Advanced capabilities in SolidWorks (2020 or later) and familiarity with PLM/PDM ecosystems.

  • Citizenship: Applicants must hold U.S. Citizenship.
