Job Title: UX Designer
Location: San Antonio, TX
Additional Acceptable Locations: Plano, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Tampa, FL
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Contract Length: 4 Months

Design intuitive and accessible user experiences across native mobile and desktop platforms, with an emphasis on problem solving, Figma, design systems, research, and cross-team collaboration. Partner with Product Managers, Developers, and cross-functional teams to translate moderately complex challenges into scalable design solutions.

Required Qualifications


  • 4+ years of experience working directly with a design or product team providing UI/UX services across web and native platforms
  • High proficiency in Figma
  • Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design for native mobile and desktop experiences
  • Demonstrated experience with design systems
  • Working understanding of operating in an Agile environment
  • Working understanding of accessibility standards and how to apply them effectively in design
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively and confidently present design work
  • Experience working closely with stakeholders to frame problems and propose data-driven design solutions with clear rationale
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of research platforms such as Maze, UserTesting, or similar tools for usability testing of prototypes

Responsibilities


  • Conduct UX research and competitive analysis on iOS and Android native technologies and best practices
  • Translate research findings into actionable design recommendations for project stakeholders
  • Conduct research to understand user needs and pain points across Digital Messaging, Documents, Advice experiences, and related life events
  • Design and iterate user interfaces for native mobile applications on iOS and Android
  • Design and iterate user interfaces for desktop applications
  • Conceptualize and design rich push notification elements
  • Create high-fidelity designs and interactive prototypes in Figma
  • Create detailed design documentation, including accessibility annotations
  • Run and analyze usability tests using Maze, UserTesting, and similar research platforms
  • Synthesize usability findings and iterate designs based on evidence
  • Leverage and contribute to the design system
  • Ensure consistency, scalability, and adherence to accessibility standards
  • Document design patterns for reuse
  • Prepare detailed design specifications and handoff documentation for development
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, Engineers, and cross-functional partners
  • Frame problems, define scope, and propose design solutions
  • Support product strategy through design services
  • Facilitate and participate in working sessions and group discussions
  • Clearly articulate design choices and rationale
  • Apply human-centered and service design principles
  • Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews/demos, and design critiques
  • Track and communicate design progress
  • Identify and communicate risks related to product decisions
  • Ensure risk mitigation is documented and visible
  • Present work to stakeholders and incorporate feedback
