Supply Chain / Procurement Transformation Consultant

Role Purpose

The Supply Chain / Procurement Transformation Consultant will lead procurement transformation initiatives by assessing current procurement operating models, identifying improvement opportunities, and designing future-state governance and process frameworks. The role focuses on optimizing procurement, sourcing, and document lifecycle management processes to improve efficiency, compliance, and strategic value while supporting organizational transformation objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Operating Model Assessment

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of procurement, sourcing, and document lifecycle management processes.
  • Evaluate current-state procurement operating models, including centralized, decentralized, and hybrid structures.
  • Analyse organizational governance, roles, responsibilities, and decision-making frameworks.

Process Analysis and Improvement

  • Identify operational inefficiencies, process bottlenecks, control gaps, and compliance risks.
  • Perform process mapping, maturity assessments, and gap analyses.
  • Recommend process optimization initiatives aligned with organizational transformation goals and procurement best practices.
  • Support document rationalization efforts to streamline procurement and sourcing activities.

Future-State Design

  • Develop future-state procurement operating models, governance structures, and service delivery frameworks.
  • Define target-state processes, controls, performance metrics, and accountability mechanisms.
  • Recommend sourcing and procurement strategies that improve operational effectiveness and stakeholder experience.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and business requirement gathering sessions.
  • Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, finance, legal, and business stakeholders to align transformation objectives.
  • Build consensus around transformation priorities and implementation approaches.

Transformation Roadmap Development

  • Identify and prioritize quick wins and high-impact improvement opportunities.
  • Develop phased transformation roadmaps, including short-, medium-, and long-term initiatives.
  • Support change management, governance implementation, and continuous improvement planning.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in procurement transformation, supply chain consulting, strategic sourcing, or operating model design.
  • Strong understanding of procurement lifecycle processes, sourcing strategies, and governance frameworks.
  • Experience conducting process assessments, operating model reviews, and transformation initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Public sector procurement transformation experience.
  • Strategic sourcing and supply chain consulting background.
  • Experience designing operating models for government agencies or large enterprises.
  • Familiarity with procurement governance, category management, and supplier management frameworks.
