Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled NERC CIP Consultant to support a major utility client engagement focused on ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System) and the 2026 performance testing program. This role requires deep expertise in NERC CIP compliance, strong familiarity with utility environments, and the ability to work closely with client stakeholders.

Candidates based near Chicago are strongly preferred to facilitate in-person collaboration during onboarding and key delivery phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead NERC CIP compliance efforts in support of ADMS implementation and 2026 performance testing
  • Partner with client teams to ensure regulatory readiness and audit preparedness
  • Interpret and apply NERC CIP standards (CIP-002 through CIP-013 and related requirements)
  • Conduct compliance gap assessments, risk analyses, and remediation planning
  • Develop and review policies, procedures, and compliance documentation
  • Support audit activities, including evidence gathering and stakeholder coordination
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (OT, IT, cybersecurity, engineering)
  • Provide subject matter expertise and knowledge transfer to client and internal teams

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with NERC CIP standards and compliance programs
  • Background in electric utilities, energy, or critical infrastructure sectors
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity in OT environments
  • Experience supporting regulatory audits and compliance reporting
  • Ability to work onsite in Chicago as needed
  • Excellent communication and consulting skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ADMS platforms and utility system implementations
  • Exposure to performance testing for large-scale grid or distribution systems
  • Familiarity with SCADA, EMS, or DMS environments
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
