Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (Partial Remote)
Role Overview
The Telecom Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and support of enterprise telecommunications systems, with a primary focus on Mitel and Clearspan platforms. This role provides technical leadership for voice, collaboration, contact center, SIP, and unified communications services. The ideal candidate will have experience managing cloud and on-premises voice environments and troubleshooting complex telecommunications issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, maintain, and support Mitel and Clearspan voice platforms.
- Manage user provisioning, call routing, dial plans, hunt groups, auto attendants, and unified communications services.
- Perform platform upgrades, patches, and system enhancements.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for telecom-related incidents and service requests.
- Troubleshoot voice quality issues, call failures, SIP signaling issues, and network connectivity problems.
- Design and implement voice solutions supporting organizational growth.
- Collaborate with network teams to ensure QoS, VLAN, and firewall configurations support voice services.
- Ensure telecom systems comply with organizational security standards.
- Lead or participate in telecommunications deployments, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience: 3+ years of experience supporting enterprise telecommunications systems.
Technical Skills: Hands-on experience administering Mitel and/or Clearspan voice platforms, with a strong understanding of SIP Protocol, VoIP Technologies, Unified Communications, Session Border Controllers (SBCs), SIP Trunking, and QoS.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of telecommunications engineering experience.
- Experience with Mitel MiVoice Business, Mitel MiCollab, Clearspan UC Platform, AudioCodes/Ribbon SBCs, or Microsoft Teams Direct Routing.
- Knowledge of cloud telecommunications and UCaaS solutions.
- Relevant certifications in Mitel, networking, cloud, or telecommunications technologies.
