The State of Kansas Human Services Executive Branch IT (HS EBIT) is seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead the design, development, and governance of enterprise data warehouse solutions. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing long-term data architecture strategies, designing scalable data warehouse environments, enforcing data governance standards, and collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to support enterprise-wide data initiatives.

This role requires a strong background in data architecture, enterprise data warehousing, data modeling, SQL databases, business requirements gathering, and Azure DevOps.

Develop long-term enterprise data architecture strategies aligned with business objectives.

Assess existing data systems and recommend scalable solutions for future data warehouse initiatives.

Design, develop, and manage enterprise data warehouses, data marts, and data stores.

Create logical and physical data models for new and existing enterprise data solutions.

Collaborate with business users, department managers, clients, and technical teams to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Develop and maintain database architecture standards, coding standards, and quality assurance procedures.

Identify data quality issues, system inefficiencies, and performance bottlenecks while recommending appropriate solutions.

Design and implement disaster recovery, redundancy, backup, and data archiving strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data warehouse and database performance issues.

Oversee master data management and enterprise data governance initiatives.

Enforce enterprise data governance policies, standards, and best practices.

Support ongoing data warehouse enhancements, modernization projects, and future platform growth initiatives.
