Summary

QA Automation Tester (OpenText UFT One / VBScript) – Automotive Connected Vehicle
Camden / Cherry Hill, NJ (Hybrid) | Contract

Our client is looking for a hands-on QA Automation Tester for its enterprise development group. Today the team tests mostly by hand, using test cases kept in Excel. You'll turn those manual tests into automated scripts with OpenText UFT One and VBScript and help build out the team's automation framework.

Responsibilities

  • Review existing manual test cases (kept in Excel) and convert them into automated, data-driven UFT One scripts.
  • Design, build and maintain a reusable automation framework, including function libraries, object repositories and data-driven or keyword-driven approaches.
  • Run automated regression suites, analyze failures, and report and track defects.
  • Work closely with developers, manual testers and QA leadership to set automation priorities and grow coverage.
  • Document automation standards and help bring manual testers up to speed on the framework.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of hands-on test automation with OpenText UFT One (also listed as Micro Focus UFT or HP UFT/QTP).
  • Strong VBScript scripting.
  • Proven experience converting manual test cases into automated scripts.
  • Experience building or extending an automation framework, especially a data-driven one using Excel.
  • Solid grasp of QA methodology, test planning and defect management.

Nice to Have

  • OpenText ALM/Quality Center or Octane.
  • Automotive industry experience.
  • Connected Vehicle, Telematics or Infotainment testing experience, which is a big plus. Candidates with this background may be considered for remote work.
  • Agile/Scrum environment and Jira.

 

Start: ASAP

Duration: 12+ months – Preferred Hybrid, may consider remote.
