Job Description

Mandatory Skills: IBM z/OS, COBOL, CICS, DB2, IBM MQ, VSAM, JCL, CA7, ChangeMan, and IBM Mainframe Utilities, along with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Solid hands-on experience in IBM z/OS, COBOL, CICS, DB2, IMS, IBM MQ, VSAM, JCL, CA7, ChangeMan, and IBM Mainframe Utilities.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills with experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment.
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and a solid understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals and contribute to an innovative culture.
  • Provide on-call support for all environments, including weekend rotation, and participate in resolving production issues as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Banking and Cards domain experience is preferred.

  • Design, coding, and testing: Mainframe Assemblers are responsible for designing, coding, and testing application programs using the IBM Assembler language. They should also be familiar with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and have a solid understanding of mainframe operating systems, such as z/OS.
  • Debugging and troubleshooting: Perform debugging and troubleshooting of mainframe applications to ensure they function correctly and efficiently.
  • Documentation: Document the design of assembler programs, explain how they work, and provide guidelines for their use.
  • Technical support: Provide technical support for mainframe systems, optimize performance, and ensure compliance with coding standards and technical design.
  • Work closely with system architects and analysts to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient, low-level machine code.
